Germain Saval studied Physics and Computer Science at the University of Paris 6, and specialised in safety critical software design and development. Then, he joined the Faculty of Computer Science of the University of Namur (FUNDP). There, he is pursuing a doctoral research in the domain of software engineering, specifically: requirements engineering (elicitation and description of user/customer needs) and formal development methods (automatic reasoning, proof and verification of software). He is currently working on selection methods for “off-the-shelf” software components and their integration in the general software development process, while also being responsible for teaching activities in object-oriented design and development (Java), and information systems modelling (UML).
