[edit] Notability of students

Please do not add names of non-notable people to this article. Thank you. dcandeto 10:14, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] POV section disputes

I added POV section disputes because:

[edit] Structure:

One perceived problem with this school is that stronger students often leave GSIS to go to boarding schools in the United Kingdom or the United States. Although this affects the upper classes at GSIS, the school is still considered one of the academically strongest schools in Hong Kong.

This is very problematic -- unless you can find a PTA newsletter or something to prove this, I will remove this.

[edit] School Environment:

The school is relatively relaxed, and imposes fewer rules on its students than most other Hong Kong schools. However, it manages to maintain an exceedingly high disciplinary level, and students are often considered well-behaved.

Perhaps this is true, but we can't prove it... Unless there are figures to back this up, I will remove this too.

Let me know what you think. --mintchocicecream 16:20, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Assess

Needs more lengthy topics, refs essential, pics nice.... there are few good non US/UK pages Victuallers 19:18, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

I have removed a large section of utter rubbish from the GSIS section.

[edit] Vandalism

Soz about previous apparent vandalism..copyandpasted from earlier version to delete 'enjoys a wonderful view', (objective and could not be proven, I've got half a mind to delete 'cleanest air' too) but unknowingly also copied vandalism. --User:simplicityho

[edit] Seriously GSIS students do better

Vandalism is becoming too common on the wiki. We should also include more information and show how good the school ist.

I am disappointed to see that the section on extra-curricular activities has been removed. It would have been good if interested students could have written something on each activity.

The problem with ecas are that they kind of change every year. There are a few common ones (e.g. cooking and model united nations) but it isnt really necessary. (Shokwaav 09:19, 4 October 2007 (UTC))

[edit] POV in the article

I am concerned that the way by which some of the language is styled in this article is causing it to lean towards one side:

However, this perception is contradicted by the fact that the school has a long waiting list and as stated below, still gains the highest A-Level and GCSE pass rate in Hong Kong.

Perhaps slightly more indirect language and a more neutral tone would be more appropriate here. Rather than saying 'this perception is contradicted', it would be better to write 'many in the school community would argue that...'. Additionally, I think the claim that the school has a 'long waiting list' must be backed up by reliable sources. Bonus bon 13:10, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Transportation

I'm a bit mystified by the edits of Germanswiss about environmental friendliness of school buses..... It's not as if the majority of students walk or bicycle to school. In using the school bus, they would be slightly more so than the individual use of private cars. Ohconfucius 05:23, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sodexho

Obviously someone from Sodexho edited the catering section, as there is absolutely no one that likes the atrocities they pass as food. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.152.141.158 (talk) 11:25, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
