This page is somewhat inaccurate. I don't believe Gerda Lerner was a founder of the National Organization for Women. In fact, I don't think she was ever active in that organization. As far as I can tell she's not mentioned anywhere on the NOW website, and she's not listed as one of their founders. In 1946 she was active in the Congress of American Women (CAW), helping to found the Los Angeles chapter. She was a local and national leader in the organization for a short period. See page 256 of her autobiography, Fireweed.

I would ask that this information be taken down until it is corrected or someone can produce a reputable citation. Lknelson3 (talk) 06:53, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

I'm going to erase the sentence claiming that Lerner was a founder of the National Organization for Women. Although this fact was stated in volume 45 of the Almanac, I can find no other source the corroborates this fact.
