The controversial bar-mitzvah quote is wrong. "Sandoval disagreed, saying San Franciscans ought to organize protests against the litigious CEOs, picketing their "houses in Tiburon and their bar mitzvahs." http://www.jewishsf.com/content/2-0-/module/displaystory/story_id/16011/edition_id/313/format/html/displaystory.html
His other comments concerning 'weddings' show that the quote in wikipedia is wrong.
There's some really obviously slanted language in this article: "And has been anti-American ever since. Enjoys selling out our Country and forcing working Americans to pay for illegals benefits. Hey assmunch, do you pay for healthcare? I do." I don't think anyone should object to excising it. And while I'm at it, placing "liberal" in the first sentence seems like it was added as a pejorative, so I'm tossing it as well. 24.5.143.19 03:16, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Savage controversy
Cayugauga, could you please explain why you felt it necessary to rewrite the paragraph regarding how Sandoval indeed failed to pass his own resolution regarding censuring Savage? I ask because it seems like it was an attempt to shift the controversy from Sandoval to Savage. The controversy here is not about what Savage said, but rather how Sandoval used government resources to attempt to censure someone's free speech because he didn't agree or like what was said.
Cayugauga, we cannot attempt to hide the fact that the Sandoval/Savage controversy infact involved illegal aliens, who are obviously controversial themselves. We don't want to pretend that Savage was simply making anti-immigrant comments aimed at the legal immigrant community, as that was not the case.
- Note: I'm going to rewrite the Savage controversy a bit now that the sups voted again, and this time passed their resolution regarding Dr. Savage.

I've moved the campaign payment controversy to the discussion page since it was not illegal and I haven't found sources other than Canada Free Press. In a controversial but legal move, Sandoval's 2004 campaign paid $10,000 to his wife Amy Harrington for unspecified work. Sandoval's opponents criticized the payment calling it "highly unsual". [edit] Anti-military section readded, discussion encouraged
Obviously Sandoval stating that the USA should not have a military is controversial, not to mention extreme. Sandoval is an elected official of a city with a rich military history, and yet he wouldn't allow a historic WW2 battleship museum there because of his personal anti-military opinions. He doesn't hide from his anti-military position, and so why would there be any opposition from the wikipedia community to noting his votes on his wiki page in the controversy section?
