I am aware that there is a lot of resentment of Corbett's time at Railtrack, and the responsibility which some feel he has in the derailment incidents, but I was nevertheless shocked by the article's venomous style.

He has made a very public and humiliating apology to the British people and the family of the victims of the derailments. However, whether he was personally responsible for the derailments is not the point. Wiki is not the place for recriminations.

I have significantly toned down the bitterness, and removed references to individuals' remuneration and payoffs which I do not think are appropriate in a biography. It is now, I feel, more objective in the Wiki spirit. Ohconfucius 06:54, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
