Gerry O'Sullivan

Gerry O'Sullivan (1 April 1936 – 5 August 1994) was an Irish Labour Party politician from Cork.
A long-serving member of Cork City Council, he was He was Lord Mayor of Cork from 1986 to 1987.
O'Sullivan was first elected to Dáil Éireann in the 1989 general election as a TD for [[Cork North Central (Dáil Éireann constituency)|Cork North Central]having topped the poll.. He was re-elected in the 1992 general election, receiving 10,008 first preference votes, again topping the poll.
He served as Minister of State at the Department of the Marine (with special responsibility for Port Development Safety at sea and Inland Fisheries) from January 1993 until his death following a short illness in August 1994.
