Gerry Creaney (born 13 April 1970) is a Scottish former footballer who played as a striker.

Creaney began his career with Celtic F.C., signing from the boys club and making his debut in the first team in 1989. He played 113 times for the club, scoring 36 goals. It was during this time that he was capped for Scotland Under 21's where he also played in the European Championship Under 21's tournament in 1992. At club level though for Celtic he never fully established himself as a first choice striker with veteran strikers such as Frank McAvennie and Charlie Nicholas being preferred and so he was transferred to Portsmouth F.C. in 1994. He proved a success at Pompey, scoring 29 times in 57 games and earned himself a move to Manchester City F.C. in 1995, with Paul Walsh moving in the opposite direction. Creaney failed to prosper in the FA Premier League however, scoring only four goals in his 21 City appearances (not all of which were in the Premiership) and spent time on loan at Oldham Athletic A.F.C., Ipswich Town F.C., Burnley F.C. and Chesterfield F.C. whilst at Maine Road (with only his spell at Burnley, which produced 8 goals in 10 games, a success). Creaney was released by City in 1999 and had brief spells at St Mirren F.C., Notts County F.C., Tampere United in Finland, Raith Rovers F.C. and Clydebank F.C. before retiring in 2001. He found work as a taxi driver in his native Coatbridge before returning to full time education where he has successfully completed a degree in Accountancy.
