German Cargo began operations with a Boeing 707-303C on April 1977 and was a 100% owned subsidiary of Lufthansa. This was an all cargo airline handling freight of all sorts and sizes. The B707s were replaced by four Douglas DC-8-73s and then in 1990 the Boeing 747-200F arrived followed shortly thereafter by two Boeing 737-200. During its existence, German Cargo operated to Africa, America, the Far East and within Europe. In 1993 the airline was integrated into Lufthansa. [1]
