Gerd Weber (born May 31, 1956 in Dresden) is a former German soccer player.

Gerd Weber started playing in 1970 for SG Dynamo Dresden in the DDR-Oberliga. At the 1976 Summer Olympics, he won the gold medal, being part of the national soccer team of the GDR. From 1975- 1980, he played 35 times for the national time, in this time scoring 5 goals. In 1981, he and his co-players (Peter Kotte and Matthias Müller (soccer)), a short time before takeoff to Argentina where they were supposed to compete, were arrested on the Dresden Airport by the Staatsicherheit. Gerd Weber had contacts to the 1. FC Köln, and solicited escape plans, wanting to flee to the Federal Republic of Germany. Weber was sentenced to a term of imprisonment of seven years and seven months. In 1989, he was released before serving his full sentence. However, he was not allowed to play soccer on a professional level anymore.
