Gerardo Lozada

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Gerardo Lozada, was a Peruvian doctor famous for confirming in April 1939 the pregnancy of Lina Medina, the youngest mother in medical history. Lina named her baby Gerardo on its birth on May 14, 1939, where Gerardo assisted in the caesarean operation.

It is suggested that Gerardo Lozada provided information to authorities that led to the imprisonment of Lina's father on suspicion of incest.[citation needed] He was subsequently released when authorities were unable to produce supporting evidence.
