Gerard Philips

Gerard Leonard Frederik Philips (Zaltbommel 9 October 1858 – The Hague, Netherlands 25 January 1942) was a Dutch industrialist, cofounder (with his brother Anton Philips) and first CEO of NV Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken.
His father, B.F.D. Philips was a banker at Zaltbommel in the Netherlands.
He was a distant cousin of Karl Marx, as well as being the uncle of Frits Philips.
