Gerard Ee

Gerard Ee Hock Kim (simplified Chinese: 余福金; pinyin: Yú Fújīn; born 1949) is the President of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), Chairman of the Public Transport Council, and interim Chairman of the National Kidney Foundation in Singapore.
In 1972, Ee became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He served full-time in the Singapore Armed Forces for two and half years to discharge his national service obligations. In 1974 he started his career as an accountant. In 1976 he became a practicing auditor and on 30 June 2005, Gerard retired as a partner of the International firm, Ernst & Young. He was a Nominated Member of Parliament from 1997 to 2002.
Previously the chairman of National Volunteer Centre (NVC), Ee was appointed as President of NCSS on 1 August 2002 and has retired as of 2006. Former President of the Automobile Association of Singapore. Ee is a member of the national medical ethics committee, sits on the governing council of the Singapore Institute of Management, is the newly appointed Chairman of the Public Transport Council. He also chairs the Medifund Advisory Council, ITE College East Advisory Council, Hai Sing Catholic School Management Committee [1] and is actively involved in the Governing Council of Singapore Institute of Management and the North East Community Development Council as Chairman of the Finance Standing Committee.
Following the NKFS controversy, Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan named Gerard Ee on 15 July 2005, as the interim chairman and acting CEO of National Kidney Foundation Singapore; Ee is not accepting any pay for this appointment.[2][3]
Ee was a partner at Ernst and Young until he retired in July 2005, just two weeks before his appointment at NKFS. He was appointed a director of Straits Trading Company. (Singapore)
Ee is the son of late Ee Peng Liang, who is known as the "Father of Charity" in Singapore. He is a Roman Catholic[4] and is married with a son, Sylvester Joseph Ee Seng Oon, and a daughter, Marianne.
He plays RPG games with his children to keep them company such as MapleStorySea, Runescape and Neopets.
