Gerard Casey (Irish republican)

Gerard Casey was a member of the Provisional Irish Republican Army, 1st North Antrim Brigade.
In October 1988 Gerard Casey's home in Rasharkin (Ros Earcáin) was raided by the Royal Ulster Constabulary. While there they removed a legally held shotgun. Casey was charged for possession of explosives, and was taken away to Castlereagh.[1]
On April 4, 1989, members of the UVF Loyalists movement entered the home and shot dead Gerard Casey as he was asleep in his home.[2] Only Gerard Casey(29 years old) was killed in the attack, his wife and kids were left unharmed.
The funeral was kept private and for the family.
