Gerald Home is the actor who played Tessek, Squid Head and the Mon Calamari Officer in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. He also worked as a puppeteer on the movie version of Little Shop of Horrors.

He was born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on October 18, 1950, and emigrated to Australia with his family when he was 16. He finished his education in Australia and spent 3 years there as an actor and teacher before moving to London to study at The Drama Studio. He graduated from there in July 1977.

Since then he has had a wide and varied career as an actor, playing in theatres around the United Kingdom in plays such as A Midsummer Night's Dream, Treasure Island, Dreams of Anne Frank, The Wizard of Oz and A Christmas Carol . In the West End of London he has appeared in No Sex Please, We're British, The Arabian Nights and The Blue Angel with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has been in 10 plays at the Polka Theatre, in Wimbledon, London, where he lives.

His many TV appearances include: Casualty, The Boot Street Band, Jenny's War, Situation Critical, Spitting Image, Keeping Mum and The Scarlet and the Black. He was the original Mr. Muscle in the long-running series of TV commercials which were shown in various countries around the world.

Gerald has also appeared at lots of conventions and shows, meeting many STAR WARS fans around the globe. He is an Honorary Member of several fan groups, including the 501st Legion and the Rebel Legion, the Jedi Outcasts of Italy and the Bydgoski Fan Klub in Poland. He has also been made an Honorary Jedi Master by the Jedi Knights of Cleveland, is "Godfather" to L'Alliance Imperiale in Canada and has his own club in Spain - The CalamariMen Club, in appreciation of the two characters he played in RETURN OF THE JEDI, and he is a Senator on the Knights Of the Empire (KOTE) Imperial Senate.

In 2007 he narrated, in Spanish, a 30th anniversary charity concert of STAR WARS music, in Valencia, Spain.

In early 2008 he was made Ambassador of the newly-formed Star Wars Outer Rim Alliance (SWORA), an international alliance of many STAR WARS fan groups.
