I'm Richard Gibson, a geologist living in Butte, Montana. I've worked in the oil and gas exploration business, on environmental geology problems, and even as a mineralogist analyzing kidney stones. I've taught college field geology and other courses. Most recently I focus on geoscience education for the public, including being the former Education Director of the World Museum of Mining, and I also serve as a Study Leader for Smithsonian Journeys around the world.
My Wiki-work is mostly vandal reversion (my 10,000th edit was a vandal reversion to Igneous rock, on March 9, 2008). I do some work on geology, oil, and some Western US history articles. I contribute (rarely) to Reference Desk questions in geoscience and mineral resources including oil. More information than you could imagine wanting can be found on my web site, gravmag.com. • Editor's Index • Vandal Templates • sandbox
