Geologue is an expatriate Ulsterman who lives in Singapore. Born in the middle of the 20th century he went to school in Larne and Coleraine. He crossed the Irish Sea to attend the University College of North Wales (UCNW) at Bangor where, despite the distractions of the various Welsh narrow gauge railways, he graduated with a General degree. The nick Geologue arises from his early employment as a geologist, firstly in government service in Northern Ireland, then in the heavy clay industry and latterly as a rough-tough oil man. Geologue continues to work in the oil industry but is now a safety manager specialising in radiation safety and explosives safety.
A former member of the Royal Naval Reserve, Geologue now keeps his feet firmly on dry land. In addition to Irish railways and railway signalling in particular, his interests include more generally Industrial Archaeology, choral singing and cycling.
[edit] Working on...
At the moment I am working on articles about the Northern Counties Committee and various locomotives in the north of Ireland but also tidying up articles of Irish railway interest where I feel I can be useful. Geologue 08:28, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
