[edit] Collides with fund-raiser

On almost every page with a Geolinks coordinate, the coordinates at the top collide with the dismiss button of the fund-raising notice. Can we either:

Change this template so that it avoids the fund-raiser if it is there
Change every geolinks template to use the no-title option
Change this template to act like the no-title option

[edit] Geolinks-coord Issues

The Geolinks templates may be superseded by recent changes in the coord template which provide a list of mapping services when the geographical coordinate is clicked on. [edit] format=dms

Why does this not work as a parameter within this template? I've tried by manually substing the code and putting in format=dms as {{{3}}} or {{{4}}} and it works fine, but for some reason when I put it through geolinks-start it does not. A test of subst:geolinks-start actually sees the third parameter magically disappear. See User:Orderinchaos/geotest for a worked example. This affects literally thousands of Australian articles. Orderinchaos 03:48, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

Template parameters are not passed automatically, but the intervening templates need to be modified for the last one in the chain to get the parameter. Here it might be something like {{#if:{{{format|}}}|format={{{format}}}|}} in the coord call. Should you be deciding the display format for so many articles though? Coord supports both formats with reader defined css rules despite the entry format, and I believe that's been implemented because people haven't agreed on which should be used. Anyway, once people are happy with how all the Geolinks templates work now, they should all be substed in articles to use coord directly. --Para (talk) 09:49, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Ahh... I see what you mean (I think I'm just having one of those days! :) Situation is data from Geoscience Australia is only available (accurately) in decimal form, but that consensus overwhelmingly favoured DMS display as only very few of the Australian readers are actually involved in the technical side, so we were going for readability. That was why the modifications to Mapit-AUS got made originally, and I've had a couple of people ask me why the DMS is no longer available in the title section. For others I think the *option* should always be there even if it isn't used much - many people don't know how to change preference settings and when they find out that template changes have caused it, they turn feral on the templates and won't use them. :/ Orderinchaos 10:36, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Including "name" parameter

{{editprotected}}

The new "name" parameter was added to coord a while ago which helps mapping applications to get the name of the page without underscores. Could someone include ",name={ {PAGENAME} }" (minus spaces) in this template? To test, go to "New York City" which has spaces and select the coordinate for it. The "Title" field at the top of the page should have it with no underscores if the edit worked. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Heptazane (talkcontribs)
