This proposal has failed to attain consensus within the Wikipedia community. A failed proposal is one for which a consensus to accept is not present after a reasonable amount of time, and seems unlikely to form, regardless of continuing discussion.

The basic guidelines are covered in the WP:Manual Of Style. But we includes these resources as a helpful reminder :

• From Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not
  • GeoTemplate is NOT a web directory
• The style should be similar to Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages)
  • Keep in mind that the primary purpose of the ... page is to help people find the information they want quickly and easily. These pages are not for exploration, but only to help the user navigate to a specific [resource].

Some that we've come up with specific to the page

• External links should take the reader to a place with information relevant to that location.
• Editors should not be hesitant to remove dead links, as they provide no value.
• Use few link as possible. Preferably designed like a disambiguation page.
• Also there is no reason why we need to include pages to the front page of the site. But we should link to an information page about the service if one exists, for details about supported url parameters and such.
• Service names shouldn't link anywhere because it's not obvious where the link leads (place with information relevant to the location, wiki article, service info page).
