[edit] New to Wiki's - Import Georgian Wine
Hi to whomever reads this ?? I co-own a company that imports Georgian wine into the US I am Georgian and therefore know quite a bit about Georgia, Georgian wine, history, etc I'd like to start to contribute but don't quite know how are where. I tried to add a link under additional resources to my small web site that has information about Georgian Wine history, tamada, grapes, wines, etc, but it got removed saying it was Spam. It was certainly not my intent to Spam and I also know that Wikipedia uses nofollow on all links so there was no intent on my part to benefit by this, I was just trying to get started.
Oh well, this is all quite intimidating to someone new who wants to participate Parkerj242 (talk) 01:09, 15 January 2008 (UTC) parkerj242
- Hello. Thank you for inquiring on the article talk page about ways that you can improve Wikipedia's coverage of Georgian wines. I did remove your links because commercially based links are not appropriate, even if your intent is not "spam". Feel free to take a look at our external links policy for more details. You may also want to take a look at the essay Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not a wine guide for a general idea about the encyclopedic focus of Wikipedia's wine articles. Your edits did bring awareness to the litany or other non-appropriate links in that section which gave me an opportunity to clean up that section and bring it more in line with policy. You are always welcome to continue contributing by may want to take a look at the Wikipedia:Five pillars which explains our most important policies and how to productively contribute to the project. You are always welcomed to ask questions at the Wine Project talk page as well. AgneCheese/Wine 01:19, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
