I hope that the page appears presentable; I did most of the research in the music library at my school so the information is well researched. There is a small question of the exact date of Johann Kuhnau’s performance of the Solo Cantata (my references stated after Kaufmann’s death but then gave the date of 16th of August 1722, over ten years before his death.

Also, I performed one of Kaufmann’s pieces this fall on the organ; I am going to try to record it so that we can have a musical example of his work.

If anyone has additional information on the Leipzig Affair, on his connection to Bach, or has a picture of Kaufmann that I have not managed to find, feel free to contribute.
