Talk:Geography of the Dominican Republic
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I was in the Dominican Republic near Puerto Plata from 25th December 2004 until 8th January 2005.
During this period there was exceptionally heavy rainfall especially in the north of the country. Roads, bridges and houses were swept away. According to the local press two thousand people were made homeless.
The weather statistics, however, tell us that December and January are the months with the fourth and third lowest rainfall figures for the country.
Was this heavy rainfall truly exceptional for the season? Are rainfall statistics already available for December 2004 for the Dominican Republic?
[edit] Country Map
A controversy has erupted over the choice of map for this article. The two candidates are shown here, along with any others that other Wikipedians may choose to enter. Feel free to make any comments. The lower map may also appear in the corresponding Geography article for this country. Kelisi 03:07, 2 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re-writing the article
I have made a completely new version of the article. I hope that someone could check the English and see if there is any error. I will try to see if the other map is more appropriate. --Pepemar2 (talk) 00:49, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Article contradicts itself.
Why did Gabriel add in two paragraphs that say nearly the same thing, but contradict each other on the land area?--RosicrucianTalk 05:46, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- If you compare all the edits of Gabril on 12 January you can see that they are some kind of vandalism, changing the map, eliminating cites and so on. It seems that he want to destroy everything that I have done; I accept changes if they justified. I revert to a previous version, discarding all his changes. Regarding the area of the country, we might wait to see if we can greet what to put in the Dominican Republic page. --Pepemar2 (talk) 19:10, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
