Talk:Geography of Oceania

[edit] "Eleventh largest continent"??

I've removed the following introductory line: Oceania is the world’s eleventh largest continent, in terms of size, and tenth largest in terms of population.

Oceania is not usually regarded as a continent. Only seven regions of the earth's surface usually are: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Antarctica. As such, calling this the world's eleventh largest continent is at best misleading, at worst, complete BS. Grutness...wha? 05:59, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

Then what continent is it part of? It is more of a continent than Antarctica! Thanks, George D. Watson (Dendodge). (talk) 19:03, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Purpose of article

Is there any value in this article? Should it just be redirected to Oceania, which discusses the extent of the region in more detail?-gadfium 19:42, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
