[edit] Copyright status of map

Hey guys, these new maps are great, but are we sure they are copyright-free? Not many publishers give away their own maps. Even if they come from another wikipedia (I think I saw a reference to the Polish wikipedia somewhere), they still might have been stolen by the person that put them there. -- worried of Cambridge, UK

These maps are from the CIA World Factbook, which being a US Government publication is copyright-free. --Brion VIBBER

It would be nice if this article didn't plagiarized straight off of the CIA factbook. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.171.41.206 (talk) 21:57, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

The CIA Factbook is a reliable and copyright-free collection of data, no reason NOT to use it as-is 83.174.61.62 (talk) 14:48, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Copyright-free or not, to use direct quotation without appropriate quote marks and citation is plagiarism, which is directly against Wikipedia policy. 71.9.8.150 (talk) 14:11, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
