[edit] Olaf-Land
Can we please think of a better name than "Olaf-Land"? First of all, Count Olaf doesn't own the island and never did. Second of all, only he calls it Olaf-Land. Just because Olaf calls himself the most handsome man or the king of "Olaf-Land" does not mean that it is so either. Since the real name is never revealed, why don't we simply call it "The Island of the Apple Tree", "The Island Whose Shores Everything Must Eventually Wash Up On", or "The Last-Safest-Place Island" (or even "Ishmael's Island" is better than "Olaf-Land".) An actual reasonable name would be something like the "Castaways' Island", or even just the "Island", since there is really only one island in the series. "Olaf-Land" is anything but official and shouldn't automatically become the name of the place in his "honor". Wolfdog 23:27, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- I understand what you're saying, but the problem lies in this phrase: Can we please think of a better name. The articles about ASUE are prone to speculation and fan theories already. "Olaf Land" is the only name we are provided with, although it is not the true name. We can't just think up or make up a new name. The only other option would be to call it simply "the island". <3Clamster 23:41, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- I realize that fans cannot simply make up a name, but I feel as though the usage of "Olaf-Land" in the story was more to demonstrate Count Olaf's arrogant nature (in thinking the place should be named for himself) rather than to be used as an actual title of the island. I personally prefer "the island", but I don't think I should decide alone what to call it. Wolfdog 03:28, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Grimgrotto cropped.jpg
Image:Grimgrotto cropped.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
