[edit] Geodynamics - the company

Geodynamics is a Australian listed company which is attempting to commercialise "Hot rocks" technology. In northern South Australia, near Innamincka, there is an area of granite rock which is heated to 250c by radioactive decay. The company has drilled into these rocks which are 4km below the surface. After fracturing the rock water is pumped through the granite befor emerging as super heated water at 225 degrees celcius through a second bore hole. This super heated steam will be used to drive a turbine to produce electricty. They company is in the process of installing a 1MW gererator. They plan to scale up to 500MW and transmit the power to Adelaide —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.7.204.15 (talk) 09:29, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
