A log cabin built by George T. Inkster in 1878, which was the first white settlement in the area of what would become en:Inkster, North Dakota (USA). Photograph taken and hand-colored in the 1910s, according to the Library of Congress.

Caption: "A two story log cabin, apparently abandoned, with a door and a small window showing. It has a pitched roof with shingles and a chimney. The cabin is surrounded by an overgrowth of weeds, bushes and trees."

From the back of the colored print: "NE 1/4 of Section 12, Twp. 154, R55. 1 3/4 miles north of Inkster"
