According to askart.com Albert Jenks died in 1901, making this image PD as of 1971.

This image is in the public domain because its copyright has expired in the United States and those countries with a copyright term of no more than the life of the author plus 100 years.

The subject died in 1923, so it must have been painted from before 1923, so it's PD by that rule. I will research the specific name of the painter, to make sure he has been dead for the necessary 70+ years. JesseW, the juggling janitor 22:34, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
