[edit] Season 1
Georgina Sparks, a girl from Serena van der Woodsen's past who used to party with Serena, returns to Manhattan from Switzerland. At the same time, Serena and her friends are busy preparing for the SAT.
Serena plans to study with Dan Humphrey, but Georgina wants to hang out. Hesitant at first, Serena finally goes with Georgina to a bar, and she slips back into her party girl behavior after Georgina secretly pours liquid ecstasy in Serena's soda. After the wild night with Georgina, Serena wakes the next morning in a hangover and realizing she forgot about her study date with Dan, Serena asks Chuck Bass to cover for her. He tells Dan that she has a horrible case of food poisoning, which is why she couldn't come. Serena meets Dan that afternoon and convinces him that the food poisoning is true and that she will meet him tomorrow for the test. Georgina calls her again, asking her to go to dinner with her. Serena says no at first, but when Georgina says there will be no liquor there and that she really inspires her to get her own life together, she finally agrees.
Impressed, Serena meets Georgina for dinner, and during the dinner, Georgina compliments her on how much she's changed. When Serena gets up from the table to attempt calling Dan, Georgina drugs Serena's Diet Coke. Serena wakes up the next morning in Georgina's apartment, and she doesn't know why. Serena realizes she is late for the test and calls Chuck to keep the doors open for her. Instead , he gets a girl to pose as Serena to take the test for her. Dan finds out and is very worried about Serena. However, Serena can't tell Dan the truth because it is revealed that there is a secret that Georgina and Serena share that could ruin the both of them. Back at Georgina's apartment, Serena tells her to never contact her again. Georgina gets very mad at Serena and threatens to reveal the secret, but Serena says that if she goes down, then Georgina is going down with her. The episode ends with Georgina meeting Dan on the street, introducing herself as Sarah. It seems that Georgina has even more plans to ruin Serena's life.
In the next episode, Georgina is continuing the charade that she is Sarah and has become Dan (and Vanessa)'s friend. During a dinner with Serena, her brother, and their mom, she reveals that she saw Eric kissing another guy, which results in Eric leaving the table and their mother in shock. Georgina has also sent Serena another present: a video with Serena and Georgina on it that shocks and scares Serena. Then, still posing as Sarah, she meets with Serena and Dan, and Serena discovered that the girl Dan had met was actually Georgina. At the end of the episode, Serena confronts Georgina about the video and the incident with Eric. Georgina says that it was an accident and she had never meant to hurt Eric, but Serena doesn't believe her. Angered, Georgina remarks that maybe it wasn't an accident and that she knows more about Serena and the people around her than Serena does. Serena is left dumbfounded as Georgina catches up with Dan.
In the next episode, we see Georgina trying to call Serena, who has been missing. All her friends and family are worried about her. Dan, who is looking for Serena, meets Georgina on the street and talks to her about his troubles with Serena. Then, Dan suddenly gets a call from a bartender who says that he found Serena's phone and tells him she left it there after she left with 3 guys. Thinking she's cheated on him, Dan continues to search for Serena. Meanwhile, Blair Waldorf finds Serena drunk and takes her back to her house. With the help of Nate and Chuck, Blair helps take Serena upstairs and get sobered up. After Dan realized she was there, he immediately goes to Blair's house to ask what she did last night. She lies and tells him that she did cheat on him to cover up another secret. Dan breaks up with Serena and leaves. She thens tells Blair she didn't cheat on Dan and she can't tell them why she lied. Blair finally gets Serena to reveal the secret, and Serena tells them that a year ago she, Georgina, and a guy named Pete were staying in a hotel room together. What Serena didn't know at the time was that Pete and Georgina had secretly hidden a video camera to film a sex tape of Serena. However, Serena refuses to have sex with Pete, repeatedly saying it was too hot, and encouraged him to take some cocaine instead. Pete ends up dying of an overdose of cocaine, and Serena is left feeling responsible for his death. She reveals that this is the true reason she left for boarding school and that Georgina was blackmailing her with the video of that incident.
She also says that Georgina is posing as a girl named Sarah and has become friends with Dan. She is afraid that Georgina will tell Dan about the video and that he will never want to see her again. She tells Nate and Blair not to trust anything she says. All three, including Chuck, who already knows Georgina, decided to help Serena, although Serena had begged them not to do anything about it. Later, in a phone conversation between Nate and Vanessa, Nate reveals to Vanessa that Sarah's real name is Georgina and warns her not to trust her. After this, Vanessa confronts Georgina about it, but Georgina runs away. After Vanessa tells Dan of her deception, he follows Georgina and asks her why she lied to them. She lies to Dan that she has an abusive boyfriend and that she had to change her name to hide from him. She also tells Dan that she is falling in love with him. They walk out toward the street, missing Rufus' band performance. Meanwhile, after facing her past and forgiving herself, Serena finally decides to tell Dan the truth. She goes to the concert to look for him, but she is unsuccessful. Soon afterwards, her phone rings, and it turns out to be Georgina calling from Dan's cell phone. Serena tells her she is no longer scared of her, but Georgina threatens to have sex with Dan before hanging up. This reveals that Georgina has no real feelings for Dan and that she is just using him to torture Serena. Georgina gets off of the phone and lies to Dan, telling him that it was her mother. Dan kisses her passionately, and together they walk off into the night.
In "Much 'I Do' Abut Nothing", Serena nearly attack Georgina when she was over at Dan's. When Dan discovers the truth, Dan calls and goes to Blair's and tricks Georgina by getting her where they first met. However, Dan ends his relationship with Georgina and her parents along with Blair, who devised the situation with Chuck, is intending to take her to boot camp for troubled girls.
