Georgina Gascoyne-Cecil, Marchioness of Salisbury

Georgina Charlotte Gascoyne-Cecil, Marchioness of Salisbury, VA, CI (1827, Paddington – 20 November 1899, Hatfield House) was the wife of British statesman, Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Salisbury.
Lady Salisbury was the daughter of Sir Edward Alderson, a judge and a Baron of the Exchequer. On 11 July 1857, she married Lord Robert Cecil (later 3rd Marquess of Salisbury), a younger son of James Gascoyne-Cecil, 2nd Marquess of Salisbury (despite the disapproval of the latter), and they had eight children:
- Lady Beatrix Maud Gascoyne-Cecil (d. 1950), married William Waldegrave Palmer, 2nd Earl of Selborne
- Lady Gwendolen (Gascoyne-)Cecil (d. 1945), author, and biographer of her father; she never married.
- Lady Fanny Georgina Mildred Gascoyne-Cecil (d. 1867), died as an infant.
