Georgian National Section of EUROSCIENCE

The Georgian National Section of EUROSCIENCE (or EUROSCIENCE-Georgia. ევრომეცნიერების საქართველოს ეროვნული სექცია (Evrometsnierebis Sakartvelos Erovnuli Sektsia) in Georgian) was founded in March, 1998, in Tbilisi, by the group of leading Georgian scholars. The Section was a Georgian Department of EUROSCIENCE (European Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology, Strasbourg, France), Non-governmental, Non-profit, scientific and educational organization. EUROSCIENCE was founded in 1997. This Pan-European Association has now more than 2,500 individual members in more than 40 European countries, 10 Working Groups and 12 Regional Sections.
EUROSCIENCE-Georgia had 9 Associate Organizations and more than 70 individual members. The Official Partner Organizations of the Georgian National Section of EUROSCIENCE were: the International Institute of Caucasology (Georgia), the International Academy for the Promotion of Scientific Research (USA), the Australian-Asian Institute for Civil Leadership (Australia). Chairman of the National Section was Dr. Levan Urushadze. Famous members of EUROSCIENCE-Georgia were Academician Levan Chilashvili, Academician Vakhtang Bochorishvili, Prof. Jondo Bardavelidze, Prof. Simon Gvritishvili, Dr. Vakhtang Itonishvili, Prof. Guram Mchedlidze, Prof. Guranda Gvaladze, Prof. Rafael Chikovani, Prof. Mikheil Gedevanishvili, Prof. Zurab Dzotsenidze, Prof. Valerian Itonishvili, Prof. Zurab Urushadze and others. The Georgian National Section of EUROSCIENCE was recognized by the Governing Board of EUROSCIENCE and the Georgian Academy of Sciences. On September 30, 2006 EUROSCIENCE-Georgia was self-liquidated.
