Georgia debuted in 2007 at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007.

On 27 October 2006 Georgia, a country to the very far east of Europe confirmed that they wished to enter the Eurovision Song Contest. At that time, the EBU were still limiting the contest to a maximum of 40 countries. However in March 2007 it was announced that all 42 applicants would participate in the 2007 Contest in Helsinki - and Georgia were on their way to making their first ever Eurovision appearance. They managed to progress from the semi-final (where they scored 123 points, finishing eight), but only came 12th (out of 24) in the final.
