State Route 348 is a state route in northern Georgia. S.R. 348 serves as a direct route from Blairsville, Georgia to Helen, Georgia.
Also known as Richard B. Russell Scenic Highway, S.R. 348 winds 14.1 miles through the Chattahoochee National Forest at elevations ranging from 2,040 feet to 3,644 feet. It begins at the intersection with S.R. 180 in southeast Union County and ends at the intersection with S.R. 75 Alternate west of Helen in White County.
S.R. 348 is a part of the Russell-Brasstown Scenic Byway which also includes S.R. 180 and parts of S.R. 17/75. This Byway is also designated as a National Scenic Byway (also referred to as America's Byways).
Richard B. Russell was personally involved in the design and construction of the highway. Along this road are two excellent hiking trails, Dukes Creek Falls and Raven Cliff Falls. This highway ends near Brasstown Bald. The Highway crosses the Appalachian Trail.
