The Georgia Central Railway operates about 174 miles of track from Macon, Georgia through Dublin, Georgia and Vidalia, Georgia to Savannah, Georgia. It connects with CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern Railroad. Georgia Central Railway is owned by Rail Link, a subsidiary of Genesee and Wyoming.

The Georgia Central operates a roster of GE U23B, GE U30B, EMD GP9, EMD GP18, and EMD SW9 locomotives.[1]

This short train was parked in downtown Vidalia, Georgia during the Summer of 2004. Several other short strings of Georgia Central work cars, including a crane, were also parked in Vidalia.
The Georgia Central engine facility is visible from Winge Road east of Lyons, Georgia.
