Georgetown University Television

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

'Georgetown University Television (GUTV) is Georgetown University's student-run campus television station, founded in 1998. The station traditionally broadcasts student shows live weekly during the school year on Hoyanet Channel 20. A slideshow of campus events and information is aired during non-peak hours.

In addition to producing and broadcasting student productions and submissions, GUTV sponsors an annual Film Festival each April, where Georgetown student films and shorts are displayed in front of a general audience. GUTV's largest production is the Over The Hilltop video, which includes a 20-minute video of Georgetown's Senior Week and the videotaped and live-edited Commencement ceremonies of each school of Georgetown University. GUTV also covers home sports games, shoots campus entertainment events, and produces the New Student Orientation video, which is shown on the last night of New Student Orientation each year to incoming students.

As of May 2007, Christina Hsiang is the General Manager and Luke Hillman is the Station Manager.
