George Witte is a poet and author of The Apparitioners: Poems, published by Three Rail Press in 2005. His poems have been published in numerous journals, including The Atlantic, Boulevard, Gettysburg Review, Kenyon Review, Ploughshares, Prairie Schooner, Southwest Review, and Virginia Quarterly; he received Poetry's Frederick Bock Prize for a group of poems, and was chosen by Heather McHugh for the Best American Poetry 2007 anthology. He has worked in book publishing for twenty three years and is the editor in chief of St. Martin's Press.
