George White (businessman)

Sir George White (1854-1916) was a Bristol-based businessman who was instrumental in the construction of the Bristol tramways. He was managing director of the Bristol Tramways & Carriage Company until 1900, then chairman until his death in 1916[1]. In 1910 he formed, with his brother, the Bristol Aeroplane Company. Among his other interests he was Chairman of the Imperial Tramways Company and its subsidiary the Corris Railway.
He was created a baronet on 26th August 1904.
