George Westmore

George Westmore (27 June 1879, Isle of Wight, England – 12 July 1931, Hollywood, California) was a hairdresser who emigrated to the United States with his family, several of whom became prominent in Hollywood. Specializing in wig-making, and later make-up, he is known for establishing the first movie make-up department.
Westmore was married to Ada Savage from 1901 to her death in 1924. He later married Anita Salazar.
In 1931, he killed himself via mercury poisoning.
