George Tutunjian

George Tutunjian (Armenian: Ճորճ Թիւթիւնճեան) is a legendary singer of Armenian patriotic and revolutionary songs and ARF supporter. He sang on Armenian stages for over 50 years.

George Tutunjian was born in Haleb. He was the original leading patriotic/revolutionary singer of all time, performing for over 50 years. Other great patriotic singers such as Karnig Sarkissian, Harout Pamboukjian, Nersik Ispirian have looked up to George Tuntunjian as an inspiration. Being one of the earliest patriotic singers, he helped accelerate the careers of such singers as Harout and Karnig, the latter being a protege of George. He was also known as a staunch supporter of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation. He held worldwide concerts in Beirut, Boston, Damascus, Los Angeles, Montreal among other places. He eventually settled in Montreal, Canada.

George Tutunjian died on November 7, 2006 in Montreal, Canada at the age of 76. He is well known for the Armenian revolutionary songs he performed, his patriotic concerts and his contributions to Armenian culture.
