George Turner (bodybuilder)

George Turner (born 1928) is an American bodybuilder and weightlifter. He began training in 1942 at the age of 14, later entered the gym business in 1950 at the age of 22. Over the course of his career, Turner at one time operated seven gyms at once in the St. Louis area, gaining some 55,000 members including three winners of the Mr. America contest, five winners of Mr. Universe, and one winner of Mr. Olympia (Samir Bannout). Turner also personally trained five National Champion Lifters and two World Champion Powerlifters (Paul Woods and Jay Rosciglione). Turner continues to train at the Powerhouse Gym in Clayton, MO at the age of 78 years old.[1]
