From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
George Tabert (born 1959) is a Christian author, church pastor and Bible teacher based in the Greater Vancouver Regional District of British Columbia, Canada. While growing up in the Brethren assemblies, he underwent a Christian conversion experience at 14 and began teaching the Bible at a very young age. He worked in heavy construction until deciding to pursue Religious Studies at the University of British Columbia and at Wolfson College, Oxford. Upon returning from his studies in England, he devoted himself full-time to the teaching of the Bible. In the late 1990s, Tabert and others from the Brethren assemblies established the non-denominational South Langley Evangelical Fellowship.
Tabert also began leading studies and seminars for the greater church community in Vancouver and elsewhere. This includes the ongoing Into the Bible: Biblical Solutions Seminar which began in 1997. Tabert has co-authored (with Andre van Ameyde) the written works from the seminar, as well as the study guide Follow Me: A Walking Relationship with Jesus. Tabert is also the author of the Gospel presentation booklet Encountering God.
In 2004, Tabert’s submission was chosen in a contest to name the Golden Ears Bridge crossing the Fraser River between Langley and Maple Ridge.
