George Sangira is a Kenyan soccer player currently playing forward for Houston Leones of the Premier Development League and Houston Baptist University of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division 1 competition.

Sangira was part of the original team that brought varsity soccer back to Houston Baptist University in 2006. Sangira was a First Team All-Red River Athletic Conference (NAIA) selection after scoring eight goals and adding four assists for 20 points as a sophomore in 2006. He scored three game-winning goals and was a perfect 3-for-3 in penalty kicks in 2006. He scored the game-winning goal in the RRAC Tournament quarterfinals against College of the Southwest and the "Golden Goal " in the semifinals against Texas College[1]
Sangira transferred to HBU from Mid Continental University where he earned Player of the Week and KIAC 2005 All-Conference Honorable Mention. He helped lead the team to the 2005 KIAC Championship and the NCCAA Championship.[2]
Sangira was called in to the U17 Kenyan National Team in 2001.[3]

In high school, Sangira was his team's top scorer in 2002-04. He captained the team in 2004, and earned Sportsman of the year.[4]

Sangira is a 5'11" junior working towards a nursing degree at Houston Baptist University. For the HBU Huskies, he plays under head coach Steve Jones. He enjoys soccer, listening to music, researching, traveling and bowling. He has three brothers, Isaac, Steven and Moses and four sisters, Seline, Lilian, Elizabeth and Anne. He was born to Patrick and Juliette Sangira on June 11, 1985.
