George S. Middleton High School was originally established in 1934-35. The current facility opened in 2002 on North 22nd Street in the East Tampa section of Tampa. The school mascot is the Tiger. The school is named in honor of George S. Middleton, an African American businessman and civic leader, who moved to Tampa from South Carolina in the late 1800s.
