From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
George Hanmer Leycester (born 12 July 1763 in Simpson, Buckinghamshire; died 6 October 1838) was an English amateur cricketer who made 50 known appearances in major cricket matches between 1790 and 1808.
Leycester was mainly associated with Surrey but also represented the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), of which he was a prominent early member [1]. He was an occasional patron of cricket, his own team appearing in a couple of matches.
He was educated at Eton but little is known about Leycester. He is not mentioned in Scores & Biographies except in the scorecards.
