George Henry Ross

George Henry Ross (born: June 13, 1878 Bedeque, Prince Edward Island died: September 26, 1956) was a politician and Barrister from Alberta, Canada.
Ross attempted a career at provincial politics running in Calgary North in the 1913 Alberta general election as a candidate for the Alberta Liberal Party. He was defeated by Conservative candidate Samuel Bacon Hillocks.
Ross was elected to the Canadian House of Commons in the 1940 Canadian federal election defeating incumbent Member of Parliament John Landeryou. George served one term as the Member of Parliament for Calgary East before he was defeated by Douglas Harkness in the 1945 Canadian federal election.
On December 1, 1948 he was appointed to sit in the Canadian Senate on the advice of Prime Minister Louis St-Laurent. He served in the Senate until his death on September 26, 1956.
