George Gwozdecky is currently the Head Coach for the University of Denver Pioneers hockey team. The Pioneers have won 2 national championships (2004/2005) under his guidance. He joined the Pioneers as head coach in 1994.
He is a member of the prestigious Miami University "Cradle of Coaches" and is the only person to win the NCAA National Championship as a player (with Wisconsin in 1977), assistant coach (at Michigan State in 1986), and head coach with Denver (2004 and 2005).
He is a native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, and is married (Bonnie) with a teenage daughter (Adrienne).
