George Dunham

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

George William Dunham is a radio personality and member of the "Dunham & Miller" morning show, heard 5:30-10:00 AM on sports radio KTCK 1310 AM "The Ticket"[1] in Dallas, Texas. He professionally broadcasts alongside long time friend Craig "Junior" Miller, and Gordon Keith.

George Dunham's career sports highlight would have to be the 2006 Ticket on Ice Hockey Charity Game when he scored a goal and slid confidently on the ice. He was named MVP for the game. Afterwards, George gave a "Dick Vermeil Like" speech, thanking his teammates and even acknowledging his family in the stands.

Dunham began his professional broadcasting career at KRLD working as a sports reporter for Brad Sham and Chuck Cooperstein. The decision to leave KRLD for The Ticket was a tough one for Dunham, as he was leaving a secure job at KRLD for an upstart like The Ticket.

In addition to co-hosting the Dunham & Miller Show, Dunham has also served as the public address announcer at Texas Stadium for the Dallas Cowboys since 1999.

Dunham also provided play-by-play commentary for the Arena League's Dallas Desperados. The position is now held by fellow Ticket personality Rich Phillips.

A 1988 graduate of the University of North Texas, Dunham has served as the football play-by-play commentator (with color analyst Hank Dickenson) for the school's Mean Green Radio Network since 1994. Mr. Dunham is referred to as "The Voice Of The Mean Green", a moniker he takes a great deal of pride in.

Dunham is known by several nicknames including but not limited to:

  • Georgio
  • Back Door George-eeeee!!!!
  • Magical Mystical One
  • Jub-Jub
  • Jubinator
