George Deacon

Sir George Edward Raven Deacon (21 March 1906 - 16 November 1984) was a British oceanographer and chemist. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1944 and knighted in 1977.

He was Director of the UK National Institute of Oceanography from 1949.
