George Anthony Morgan Taylor

George Anthony Morgan Taylor was awarded the George Cross for gallantry [1]. His award was published in the London Gazette of the 22nd of April 1952. He was employed by the Commonwealth Bureau of Mineral Resources at the time as a Vulcanologist and received his award for his work in averting a volcanic danger from January to April 1951 at Mount Lamington in Papua. He was born on the 30th of October 1917 in Moree, New South Wales and served with the Australian forces during World War Two.
