Geoff Moon

Geoff Moon (b. 1915) is a New Zealand naturalist and photographer. He is the author and photographer of several books on New Zealand birds and landscape, and his photographs are also used in other publications, including those by his wife Lynnette. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Photographic Society of New Zealand and an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain.
Geoff was born in China where his English parents were living while his father worked in a managerial position for Shell Oil. The family moved back to England and Geoff came to New Zealand in 1947. Originally he worked as a veterinarian and started a practice in Warkworth where he lived with his family. He is an honorary life member of the New Zealand Veterinary Association. In 1994 he was awarded an OBE for his services to the veterinary profession and photography.
