You've mentioned that you were present on both the Celera and HGP teams, I have a question, when exactly did actual sequencing of the human genome begin? I've been attempting to hunt down this elusive date with no luck.
== Actual sequencing at Celera began after Drosophila melanogaster was finished. I believe it started in 1999, but I'm no longer sure of the month.

I've restored it in condition that the article just don't contain advertisement - that was a G11 candidate for speedy deletion prior to deletion, I'm giving this article a chance, but another editor can delete this. Thanks!--JForget 01:40, 27 September 2007 (UTC)
